I had both some rusty but mostly unrusted body frame and undercarriage parts that I treated thoroughly last fall before salty road Northeast winter, in a newer car. I Just got up under there last week to assess and 're-treat' as necessary. Treated areas (even over rust) looked PERFECT and identical to how they looked after they were treated and the product had dried last year. I was amazed. Resprayed delicate parts anyway while I was up in there to ensure zero exposed metal (but I probably wouldn't have needed to; however all the work/time spent was just getting the car lifted and all skid plates removed). CRC stuff is the bomb. Buy it in 4 packs.. Big savings. ***I just wish there was a long tube applicator that has a wider dispersion spray coverage so that you can get up into all cavity's and cover every inch of metal floor pans/welds, etc AND into the frame cavities more easily. CRC: please come out with such a dispenser nozzle ***

Just stumbled on your video. I had 3 different fords do this all within a few weeks. I did the same thing you did. The weird thing is that the new plug screwed in perfectly fine.

Great video, that kid's done well to find a decent, diligent mechanic such as yourself. That hack job on the alternator and the frame cutting are the hallmarks of an absolute crook and give mechanics a bad name. Well done mate, I enjoyed watching the process.

900 ml with Diesel, plus acetone and ATF 1/3 of each. It will speed up some. Do a flush with it and the use as additive by 10% for the next 2 oil change intervals afthe the pure flushing. I've also tried 700 ml of gasoline and 100 ml of dish wash detergent giving a decent in a 15 minutes quick cleaning.

A quart of atf is not going to do it. Drain all the old oil. Replace it with five quarts of ATF. Let it >>idle<< for 20-30. Do NOT drive it!! Drain it and then replace the oil filter and fresh oil.

Whoever worked on that Mazda before should apply for a job at Boeing. Scary stuff, compromising safety to make a job easier. I’d be scared to drive that thing if I found out part of the subframe had been chopped off.

That hack frame cut-out truly is a double edged sword. It compromises vehicle frame integrity yet offers alternator and wiring accessibility. These longer videos offer great detail and are much appreciated. Thanks for all your hard work.

Thanks for the great video. It really helped me in replacing my control arms. Just FYI if you have a manual MK4 Jetta/Golf/Beetle you don't have to lift up the transmission to get the bolt out of the hole on the passenger side. Also there is a an allen wrench or torx fitting on the end of both the outer tie rod end so you don't have to use a vice grip to keep it from spinning or an angle grinder which I used and then my wife showed me there was a torx fitting! lol There is one on the ball joint, but you can't get to it so it's useless.

Do you just simply pump the brakes after the car in on the ground? Do you take the lid off the master cylinder, I know you don’t bleed antilocks anymore unless it’s done with a computer at a shop?

What was the torque attachment you used. Never seen that before. Looks like it attaches to your standard break over handle.

Pretty normal for that motor to climb one notch below the red . Make sure good fluid . Good call on a lower temp thermostat to a lower temp so fans kick in faster
